I have been fascinated with the idea of lotions bars lately. I love that they are a solid product to travel with and one of the easies things to find made of pure and simple ingredients. It didn’t take me long to research on Etsy, my usual haunt for natural skincare, where I came across Bee Simple2.
The owner, Julie Graber, sent me an email soon after my purchase about her excitement in trying out her product. Delivery was swift and the packaging! – natural colored tissue paper with “Handmade with Love” washi. There was a piece of paper explaining that my purchase helped provide bees to families all over the world, a guide on how to use the lotion bars and her cute business cards. I love the rustic elegance of her natural-colored marketing.
I ordered a Lavender lotion bar, which came in a very cute bee mold and housed in a round tin. By now you’ve heard me rave about tin packaging, so absolutely loved this. I think it comes in 2 oz. bars, made of beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil and lavender essential oil. Smells great and very natural. When applied to the skin, it absorbs instantly and doesn’t feel greasy, oily or heavy on the skin at all. And it melts beautifully by the warm of your hands, so you’re applying just enough to the skin, not too much as one tends to do with creams and lotions.
Julie included a wonderfully handwritten note with a lovely surprise – a Cocoa Mint lip balm and a Citrus Zest lotion bar to try out. It was completely unexpected and I am so grateful and happy she sent them. The Citrus Zest lotion bar smells like an afternoon tea lemon cake and if I can recommend any scent so far, try this one. This bar has now found a place in my handbag.
I’m building up quite a wish list now of all the different scents she’s got and can’t wait to try them all – White Tea and Ginger, Bartlett Pear, (Cinnamon Orange sounds like a great one for Christmas – possibly finding a way into stockings later this year!).
Fast shipping, friendly service, elegant packaging and affordable for great quality. If you’re interested in all natural lotion bars, go check out her site on Etsy here. You won’t be disappointed.
